Kingdom Hearts 4 Trailer Reveals Next Entry in Disney-Inspired Series, Grownup Sora

Square Enix said Kingdom Hearts 4 is in production during a 20th anniversary livestream for the renowned Disney-themed video game franchise on Sunday. The classic trio of Sora, Donald, and Goofy will be back in action in the clip (4:06 to 7:40).

It will begin the Lost Master Arc, in which Sora travels to the Quadratum, a Tokyo-like city. Strelitzia, a new character who explains the Quadratum to Sora before rushing off to war, is also added.

Kingdom Hearts 3 was announced in 2013, and it was released six years later on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch (though the latter is only available via cloud streaming). PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC are likely to get the new game.

Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link, a mobile spinoff game for iOS and Android devices, was also announced. This year, it will be put through a closed beta test, but only in a few areas. Square Enix hasn't released a new game in a long time.
